Ben Coghlan

Ben CoghlanDr Coghlan is a specialist in applied epidemiology and is currently based at the Burnet Institute in Melbourne. He has recently worked on issues relating to Avian Influenza, including consulting to WHO in Cambodia, preparing travel advice for Burnet consultants, and briefings to AusAID and the Australian NGO community on difficulties faced by developing countries in early identification and response to human cases of Avian Influenza.

Dr. Coghlan has been involved extensively in public health work in developing countries. His experience includes work in Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Lao PDR, Democratic Republic of Congo, Myanmar, Thailand and Sudan for a range of organisations including Medecins Sans Frontieres, the International Rescue Committee, and the Australian Red Cross.
